Deer blind for the kids.
My grand kids are 5, 4 and 3. I'd like to sit out in the evening and watch for deer with them before hunting season starts. I don't plan on hunting out of the stand just wanting to get them started sitting and watching. I'm just torn how crazy to get with it. $$$$ Any thoughts or idea's.

Go get a load of free wood pallets, build a box, and cover it with saplings or other vegetation. Total investment should be about $10 including gas money.

Or get yourself some wire mesh fencing. What we do is make it as big as you want to sit everyone comfortably. Usually square. Then either camo burlap, or weave in spruce or cedar branches. But that would depend on where your blind would be located. Because you don't want conifers in a hardwood setting. I see Tractor Supply has a roll of wire welded fencing, 24" H. by 50' L. for $25.00.
Real cheap way would be to get small square bales of hay or straw, as many as needed to get the size needed. Obviously these would not have a roof. Or you could buy the man made popups for relatively cheap. Seeing shooting out of it wouldn't be an issue.

Notice the special camo pattern. My grand kids had a blast doing it. My wife and daughters thought I was crazy when I told them what to do. But once they got started they didn't want to stop.

Update on the deer hut. This hut is in a good spot to see and watch deer. Not much luck for harvesting one with the kids, until this year. Here in Illinois we use shotguns with slugs. We practice with the kids and they know the limit of their shot. 40 yards is about the limit for the kids. Had the big buck come in around 80 yards. My little hunter said take him PaPa. I let the little guy track him and help field dress him. It was the first time he had seen a deer harvested. That afternoon back out we go. He got his first deer at 50 yards in the heart. Oh how i love it when things come together.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
