Default Front mounted Hydraulic Hoist on a 107 (Part 2)

So I've been using my hoist once in awhile and am happy with it except for the noise and fumes while using in the garage or for any length of time. I decided to convert the hoist "up/down and "in/out" to run off the battery (with or without the engine running). Got the 12 volt pump off ebay and now just need to figure out how to make work. Hydraulic steering will still run off engine driven pump, it's amazing how easy it steers even with a heavy load.

i'm hoping my 2nd thread isn't as polarizing as my first. http://onlycubcadets.net/forum/showthread.php?t=45020 Here's 2 pictures to get the thread started, anyone used a 12volt pump like this before?

Looks good. You'll need a positive control to the raise solenoid as well as the lower solenoid via control switches and a positive power circuit to the raise solenoid. Also another remote solenoid valve for extend/retract on the pressure side but I'm thinking you'll use your existing spool valve? If using the existing spool valve just mount control switches on the spool valves for raise, lower, reach, retract, done. Might be a good idea to wire in a lift limit switch as well to interrupt so you don't dead head the pump but that might be over kill. I liked your last thread and glad you made another.

I've had some experience with the horizontal 12V driven pumps used on truck lift gates. Nearly identical except for the reservoir. The battery driven pumps work very well and some produce a fairly high working pressure. When paired with the right cylinder, you should be able to do some work. One of the biggest enemies of a hydraulics system is dirt and water contamination, another is heat build up. Be aware of those. You should have a fun project. Keep us posted with pictures!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
