Default Amazing tractors!

We all know how amazing our Cubs are. Last night was just more evidence to this. I plowed UP my flagstone driveway last night. Many of the flagstones are not even close to being even with each other. And my downspout empties out onto the bottom third of my driveway. So there’s a nice sheet of ice under the snow. I’m running Deestone ags without chains. We have a good six inches of wet snow. My 122 pushed the snow up hill no problem, even on the ice. And there were many times I’d catch an edge of flagstone, and would come to a stop. I’d lift the blade an inch and let out the clutch, and keep right on going. Outstanding performance.

The main purpose for this thread was for the newbies out there just learning about Cubs. I’ve had mine over 20 years, and never had a mower deck on it. I’ve hauled tons of firewood, both split and logs so big my son and I had to roll them up onto the wagon using a ramp. I also had a huge wagon with a leaf vacuum on it. And of course the snow blade did double duty with landscaping. Absolutely the most rugged tractor out there. Can't wait to get a 10" moldboard and bust up some sod.

Looking forward to plowing snow with mine I have all the parts to build a snow blade except the blade itself will be starting on it as soon as it warms up. I ll be ready for next year.

Jeff122,

I'm doing some R&D on some more contemporary applications of my cub. If things work out, then I'll share them....if things go South, then I'll go back to the drawing board....more later, I hope.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
