Default 149 Question-Hydraulics
Hello guys,

I hope everyone and their family had a wonderful holiday.

I recently removed the tower/dash from my 149. I have the valve assembly in hand and was wondering how hard it would be to thoroughly check it out. I will rebuild it if it proves to be feasable. I'm not well versed in hydraulics and I want to make sure this valve is in top shape upon reassembly. I am assuming the "guts"/o-rings are original and that is my main reason for concern.

I found during the teardown that this tractor had been near some sandblasting. It had small piles of sand sitting on top of the pump/rearend and in every crevass possible. It has maual relief valves too. I'm wondering if I should remove them and check them out for sand. Is there a way to check these relief valves? Should I just chance them being clean? I do have some backups if necessary.

Any and all help will be appreciated.

I went down and picked up 3 Cubs from a guy in Florida a couple years ago and there was sand in every crack and crevis on those tractors. One of them (a 123) I use pretty regular...

I did take off the major components (engine, transaxle, dash, steering column, front casting) and pressure wash them as best I could, haven't had any problems yet.

Thanks Yosemite Sam.

I have had only one response (yours) so I guess I'm not the only one with little knowledge of the valve body.

Guys, I need to know what will happen if I start taking this thing apart. I'm not as concerned about the relief valves or even the hyd. cylinder. If someone knows where I can go to get this information please let me know.
