Default The Family Grows

Craigslist ad said "Older Cub Cadet 12hp 50 inch deck".
I tubed him a note asking "how much" because I'm in the market for a 12hp motor.
He sends back a picture of a 108 and sez $400.
I write back and say it's a 108 and that's only 10hp and I'm not interested at that price, the most I could go for a 10hp would be $200 and I'm not saying that to insult you or your asking price. Just my needs.
He tubes back that he always thought it was a 12hp and sorry for the confusion ...... and he'll accept my offer, when can I pick it up.
I picked it up today and he showed me in the last 3 months he put on a new seat, new deck belt, new blades, new air filter and changed the oil. The battery is less then a year old and I'm a 'Happy Camper'.:biggrin2.gif:
Motor has no noises or smoke, clutch is great, only thing I could find wrong was some cracks in the coil wire.
Got to dark out for pictures but I'll post some soon.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
