Default Electronic ignition for "K" engines

Has anyone tried the Pointslayer ignition system form Overnight-solutions check out link below similar to Kirks Engine's idea?

My personal experience and opinion...
When I had my own shop...shut down...just got sick & tired.
I do/did restorations...foreigncars. Old jags, mgs, etc. have a distributer thats got little to no adjustment....and they were alwys worn bad.
The mechanic I had, had this thing about tossing the original setup and replaceing with an elec eye unit. easy swap and just mark up the cost.
It was never that easy. They never worked rt. When we'd finally work the bugs out, a week of driving, and the eye would get dirty, and problems would start all over.
I'm old school.
Points are adjustable, you can switch springs to get better high rpm modes, add a high volt/amp coil gives you more bang.
They'll last forever with minimum maintainence.
Only my experience and feelings.
I had a 427 that ran 9.80 @ 142mph, with a single point distributer....just modified the advance curve to limit the advance (give more initial timing), and use a strong points spring so I didn't get point bounce at high rpm.
Only my opinion.

Duly noted.
But,
If someone unmechanically inclined, or inclined but not experienced sees something that seems "Wow, this is a great", and questions the members, I feel they deserve to hear the real truth behind upgrades.
Some work great, some just aren't worth the thought.
And a lot of times, the experience comes from an area of hobby, or employment, that has nothing to do with tractors.
A machine, is a machine. I have no time in my life for stuff that breaks down. And if it does....I have no energy for fixing anything in a way that's gonna break again....if I can help it the first time.
So, I offered my experience to help out.
It's better than learning the hard way.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
