Default cig lighter

I just acquired a 105 and am starting to tear it down to build back up, the dash is broke(this is my first cub) the dash has a cigarette lighter, i am looking at one on ebay and it dosent look like it has one , so were only some of them equipped with lighters, or was this added later, if so ,should I look for one with a lighter hole, or just buy what I can find , and drill a hole out for the lighter, or just omit it !

As far as I know, the Cigarette Lighter was strictly an option and a very rare one at that.

My 124 has the factory lighter. It was always a joke between my friends and I (we all smoke) that a cigarette lighter is a definite plus for anything.
I had an old yardman, many years ago that had one.....when I'd point it out, everyone would bust out laughing and say "Those were the days when they knew how to build things".

my 104 has the hole with a chromed cap in it. I figured that was the factory configuration, and installing the lighter unit was a dealer installed option.

I have one on the 109, sure would like a pic to see if it's factory or someone added or replaced it later. Mine is locked up and I haven't tried to clean it yet. Any tips so I don't mess it up?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
