Newbie with a Cub story
Hello all.
I grew up watching my dad mow with my great grandpa's Cub Cadet 125. Its so old that my dad also watched my grandpa mow with it. and my grandpa was able to watch my great grandpa mow. We bought it new in 1968 and a year after my great grandpa bought a QA-36 snowthrower for it. That meant it was used year round. After he died it was passed down to my grandpa. He didn't has a use for it since he had a small lawn and driveway, he gave it to my dad. So from then on it was used year round. At the time it had been used almost 20 years. And was continued to be used up until early 2000's possibly 2002-3. It started to smoke. My dad not knowing the worth of it didn't want to fix it.(mostly because hes lazy) kept using it to a bitter end, but it wouldn't die. Until one day it wouldn't start. I don't know why because I was like 4 or 5 and my dad doesn't know because he isn't too bright. Haha I've got a couple pictures of my grandpa and great grandpa mowing the lawn with it. Last year I bought a Cub Cadet 1250 with a 44" deck and model 2 tiller. and two months ago I bought a 102 that had everything, but it was really tired and I don't know what to do with it. Heres the pics. If you want I'll see if I can get some pictures of the other two. PS* The picture with the JD is after we pulled it out of the shed

Welcome to the site. Those old machines are a really well built, tough machine. My son and I are working on a 102 that has been used hard for many years. We replaced any part that needed it and a repaint is complete and reassembly is coming along but a bit slow.

Jacobson GT 10 with mower. DR Lawn vac tow behind,Home made lawn roller. Brinly cart, 2 off brand carts and 1 home made cart.

Brian April 1979 1200 Quietline 44A deck 1988 1211 customized into a 1288 with a K301AQS 38C deck and a 1864 54” deck . Snow blades 42" and 54" . Brinly disk, brinly plow a cultivator and a $5 brinly yard rake!
