Thanks for the tip. I am new to forums and I am trying to figure this one out.
I am sure I most likely got something out of sequence. I will give it another try tomorrow. I am not sure what format my photos are. I will check that later.
Please bear with me while I learn. Your helpfulness is appreciated.

Thanks cooperino!

It's been washed on the surface, but there is a lot of gunk on the engine and frame.
don't know much history on it but it runs good. I had to replace a head gasket and now I am replacing the brake lining. would you know what thickness the original brake pads were?
I am using 3/16" but I think they will be too thick.

I do not know the actual thickness of the material. I think the closest material available is 3/16 which might need to be a bit thinner.. Check out this PDF on relining cub pads.

I used 3/16 but had to sand the pads down on a belt sander to get them to fit.

That is a good tutorial. I saw that the other day and have already started on it.
I have the pads made, so now I have to set the drill press up to mill them. It sounds to me like it's kind of a trial and error thing on the thickness.
I will send some pictures when I get it done.
Thanks for the help!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
