Default Can't get the Trany Handle off on 147

OK I give up.
I've been wressling with the hydro lever and it won!
I need to take the handle off so I can take the dash off for repair.
I can`t see a set screw in it, but it wont come off.
What`s the secret?
Not the set screw that's on the workbench.
Any good help at this point will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

There's a setscrew underneath the handle portion of it. That's probably most of the problem.

Ole147:

Did you try spraying PB Blaster (or Kroil) in the Set Screw Hole and allowing it to soak & penetrate...??

I used WD-40 in the hole don't have PB Blaster. I tried this morning no go.
I'll squirt it some more in it & try it again before I go to work.

WD40 is NOT a penetrate. If you use PB Blaster, you will see the difference.

Default I got it!!!!!!!

OK. OK! here is the scoop.
After I read the one post that told me to get PB Blaster I went looking for it. But before I went I shot some more WD-40 in the hole.
I came back empty handed couldn't find any PB Blaster.
Then I remembered This tool I made a few years back.: Dug it out, made new grippers and a retainer hook.:ThumbsUp
The tool is a small slide hammer...
Hooked it up, tweeked it a little. Five or six slaps and:biggrin2.gif:
It popped off.
I then checked the spline shaft it cane off of. It was coated with WD-40.
Then I picked up the can and it states that it penetrates, though it may not do I really good job at penetrating I did work out for me here, or did it? I will have to say that I wouldn't have got it off so easily with out the little slide hammer that saved the day.
I want to thank all for the help. I want to get some of that PB Blaster.
I never heard of that before. Maybe I wouldn't have needed to get out my little slide hammer.
Thanks again

This is worth what you paid for it. I use a product called Deep Creep (made by Sea Foam). Not to be different but because I can get. I think it works great. I have never used BP Blaster so I can't compare them for you.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
