With the battery out of unit.. How would you start it to have it running?
The IH amp meter does not show an actual number. It shows a scale. I believe it is scaled to 30 amps total but not positive. So 1/2 way up from 0 should be about 15 amps. A meter that showed actual numbers next to hash marks I feel would be more accurate. Now I have had alternators put out amperage but little to no voltage. I am hard pressed to remember a time where I had voltage but no amperage tho. This is why I think I could identify a charging issue more quickly with a VM over an AM. There are some decent combo meters out there. I have not seen an analog one tho which would be something I would consider using on IH tractors and other equipment If any one knows of one.

So, anyone.. How many amps is the IH showing there??

Here we go again.

I deleted the UNRELATED sidebar debate discussion that had NOTHING to do with the Original Post.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
