Default 982 modifications

What are some things you guys have done to your sgt’s that make them better to use/ add uses. Just curious as to what some people come up with. Here’s mine, only thing this one has is power steering.

Hey. That there looks very nice! Is the power steering something you added?

As far as add ons, 3 point would be nice.

That is a sweet 982!! I was gonna suggest Power Steering but you already have it!.. Three point and aux hydraulics would be my next choices!

A friend added it before I bought it. I would love to find a used 3 point for it. It’s hard to pay 500 for a 3pt when I paid 1000 for the tractor lol

Wow! You stole that tractor if you paid $1000 for it in that condition with Power Steering! Congrats on the great find!

The hubcaps and the P/S are worth what you paid for it!!

It was sitting in someone’s basement for 10 years before I got it. Hadn’t been ran or started since it was parked. I got it in this condition in these pictures I’ll attach. I re assembled the machine put gas and a battery in it and it fired right up. Didn’t clean the carb. It runs beautifully couldn’t believe an onan ran this smooth for not having the carb cleaned!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
