Given the size of the motor and its hp rating, it's likely around 18ftlbs at it's peak. The 1782 probably makes just a bit more... Maybe 19 or 20ftlbs. Those numbers may be a bit high, as the constant HP isn't 21hp. It's more like 18 at peak.

According to the Kubota WG600 service manual the engine makes 31 FT. LBS at 2600 RPMs Gross intermittent torque.

Thanks guys!! I was curious how it compared to the kohler V- twins....I have two CH25's I plan to rebuild in the near future.
Basically, would you guys prefer the Kubota in the 2182 or one of the Kohler commands that around the 22-25hp |

I go with the Kubota just because it has a cool smokestack.

What are you trying to accomplish? If you have a decent running 2182 why would you want to put a CH in it? If you have a 2182 and the engine is junk then do as you please. You haven't given us all the details.

True.....well I am looking at repowering a couple tractors. The WG600 was put in grasshopper mowers too I have found out. Bssically, I want to repower my 1440. I know I would have to lengthen the frame with the kubota. With a CH I dont really have much work to drop it in. I have an opportunity yo buy a 2182 which I would keep original. I slso have a lead on a WG600 engine out of a Grasshopper......so.......I was wondering what guys thought of the WG600 performance compared to a Command as work horse tractors.
And I agree, the exhsust stack on th e 2182 is great looking |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
