Default need help 582 kohler 18 mag swap

i got a 582 it had a b&s 16 hp. I bought a kohler 18 mag off ebay. I have a few questions for the experts. I am new to cub cadets so i don't know that parts will interchange?

1.Looks like i need to put 1/2 in spacers under engine.

2.What do i need to conect the engine to drive shaft?

3.the kohler has 1 1/8 pto shaft. b&s had a 1 in shaft can i get a 1 1/8 clutch?

4.Will the muffler and heat shield off a kohler kt17 off a 782 fit the 18 mag.

5.the kohler 18 has a 3 wire plug looks like.1 goes to oil pressure switch. One goes to stater and one to coil what do i connect these to?

Thanks in advance dale

1. They aren't quite 1/2".... 0.490" or something like that.

2. Clutch driver from a 800-1000-1200 or possibly one from an earlier gear drive cub.

3. 682/782/1710/1711/1712/1806/1810/1811/1812 etc. PTO clutch...anything from a CC with an M18 or KT-17 will work.

4. Yes.

5. Can't remember. Go to Kohlerengines.com and download the service manual for the engine...it will tell you. Or find a wiring diagram for an 1806/1810/1811/1812.

Dale,I would make some from some round stock or 3/8 black pipe cut to length and a flat washer against the aluminum case and away you go.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
