Well if you look at the main thing, they were only made one year so... one would suspect, that the production numbers weren't all that high/great, therefore there wouldn't be many out there for the masses, and thus, not much talk/attention is paid too them. It's my theory on it.

Well, there you go.
Giddy, It's the same thing as a 782 with just a different decal. Learn something new everyday.

I forgot too mention that in my Craigslist travels, I ran across a 1711 posted awhile back.
I laughed when I read the add. It has one of them there new fangled Predictor power plants in there that must have been purchased at Under Harbor Freight. The guy wanted a lot for what it is, or ain't, depending on how you look at it. . I'll look for it and post it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
