I sure learn a ton from just reading every new thread/post!
After rebuilding the K321, I had it running before a new coil had showed up, so I just left it. And it has had a high RPM miss. Well this morning, I took the half hour and put the new coil on and went loading dirt. The miss is gone! Thanks again to all the generous with their time and knowledgeable OCC members. |

How interesting that you found the issue was in the coil. I have a 129 and I am not able to get the high and low set on the carb. Between the timing and coil, this maybe my problem?

Here is for you techies out there. 40 years ago I worked for a company that used a servo amplifier that used tubes ie fire bottles. The tubes required approximately 250 vdc that was supplied by a small transformer. When the amplifiers quit working which they did quite frequently, the transformer would be hot. The high voltage winding would short adjacent turns together which would overload the transformer. One turn being shorted together would not affect the resistance of the winding. The only way to actually detect the problem to apply a pulse to one of the windings and monitor with an oscilloscope. A good transformer would ring as opposed to a bad one with a shorted winding. Just my 2 cents.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
