New guy looking for some info
Ive got a couple cub cadets. A 1315 that I modified a little(will post pics if anyone is interested in a little newer cub), it doesnt look like the little 1315 it use to be. And a 127 that has no spark.
First off is $30 a good deal on a used coil, points, and condensor? Second I got this part with the 127 that I dont know exactly what it is, found one on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Cub-Cadet-narrow...3286.m20.l1116 Thanks for the help, this is a very cool site. |

Absolutely not. Rule of thumb: never buy used electrical stuff for anything other than pennies on the dollar. What's saying those aren't going to fail tomorrow? The points and condenser are less than $10 combined, and the coil will range from $15-$40 depending on brand and stuff. For the price, you can't go wrong with new.

Tater,
I strongly agree with Matt. That bracket you have is to mount a 3 point hitch. It is the top most mounting point. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
