I just said I didn't need another one, I never said I didn't want another one.

Very Nice!! The #4 carts seem kind of rare.. at least around here!

I'm guessing a third party was making the #4 carts for IH? The only reason i'm asking is that I have a Gravely cart that was purchased new from Gravely in 1987.. It is IDENTICAL to the IH cart with the exception of the tongue. The Gravely cart has flat channel tongue where it looks like the IH tongue is round? Tires, axles, body and tailgate are all exactly the same.. even has the same corner braces on top edge of the body.. Anybody that knows or could shed some knowledge on the MFG?

This may be my problem.

I have a new driveshaft from Jeff that I'm going to put in.

I also noticed the flywheel screen is missing. Is that a problem?

I got my driveshaft in and tried to cut some grass and noticed two more problems.

First is when you pull the drive lever back to neutral, the hydro pump moves a little. I don't think it is the whole transmission, just the pump. The tractor seems to drive fine. I have to pull the fenders off tomorrow and see what's loose. Has anyone ever seen this before?

And the second thing, I noticed a noise coming from the front, I think it's the PTO, because I only heard it when it was engaged. It seemed to work fine for the 5 minutes I used it. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
