Default OEM-190-032 Snow thrower question

I need some help from the OCC community. I am a Wheel Horse & Gravely guy but suggested to my sister that she purchase a Cub Cadet LTX1042 for her lawn mowing chores. She purchased it new and has no issues with it. She relies on her dealer and has pretty good support there.

She has asked me to find a snow thrower for her lawn tractor. The manual calls out OEM-190-032 which I searched out and found that it fits a number of MTD built tractors.

I have located an MTD 190-032-101 which appears to me to be a 2 stage snow blower.

Question 1: Is the MTD 190-032-101 the same as OEM-190-032?

Question 2: How suitable is the LTX1042 for carrying a snow thrower? Driveway is 150' long single lane, level.

Thanks in advance.

Default OEM-190-032 Snow thrower question

Thank you Roland!

Is there a resource for deciphering the MTD numbers? I found a 190-823 and a 190-673-100 that are much closer to me. Also, I read on OCC about adapter kits to retrofit. Are the dealers the best source of this information?

Thanks again.

I find that Google is very helpful when trying to find some info.

190-672-100 is a bumper, not sure if you need it for the blower

Thread here on OCC pertaining to the190-823 blower

Default typo on the number

Thanks Sam Mac.

I had a typo on the number.

Starting to better understand the numbering system.

On a 823 (190-823-101) snow blower, Partstree lists LT 1045, 1046, and 1050. Is there significant differences in the LT and LTX tractors and would those differences prevent me from mounting this snow blower to the LTX1042?

Thanks again.

Default Snow Blower "Service Kit"

From what I can gather, MTD makes or made a kit to convert a number of older tractor mounted snow blowers (MTD) to the modern step-through frames.

Does anyone know the part number for the kit? The local dealer quoted it at $247.

Thanks.

Default Service kit for conversion

Much better success by phoning. The customer support rep was not able to help me but he transferred me to technical support. That rep gave me part numbers. It turns out that two service kits are required. Parts were not any cheaper but at least with parts, I can try to shop.

Thanks again.

Hi I have the same exact fitment issues. Do you happen to have the model numbers for the update kits that you spoke of?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
