Default Cub Cadet Original 3 Point Hitch Dimensions

Hey all,

I'm somewhat new to this forum.

As all original owners might agree with me, 3 point hitches for originals are SUPER hard to find, because they don't fall in the wide nor narrow frame category. However, I am somewhat skillful with an anvil and hammer and reckon I can build my own (The bottom and top brackets and the lift lever at least).

Does anyone have the dimensions of the lower and upper brackets and the lift lever arm for a 3 point hitch on a cub cadet original from 1961? If so please let me know, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First, welcome to OCC....

The 3 PT Hitch for the Original is hard to find any dimensional data on.

Here is the assembly for the Parts Manual.

Also, here is a link for some actual images...... CCO 3 Pt

That is the best I can provide.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
