Default RZT S50 won't move

Hello All. My sister-in-law has an RZT S50, Model # 17WFCBDP010, Serial # 1 Eo73H10137. She was mowing and stopped for a minute to move something on the ground. When she got back on it would not move. I have looked it over and cleaned and cleaned etc, but am not familiar enough with the machine to know what the causes might be. I looked at the forward and reverse peddles and the spring on the reverse peddle is present. Don't know if the forwar peddle is supposed to have one, but it is mushy. The machine starts easily and runs, it just won't move by the peddles. I did set the springs that release the back wheels so that I can push it around, but put them back before I tried it out. What could be the cause?

A quick look at the RZT S50 diagram shows the hydro appears to be belt driven..... If I correctly read it. Did you check belt and it's components?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
