Attachments for a 1606 (I'm a newb)
Hey everyone. I just bought a 1606, my first Cub Cadet.
I was wondering about attachments. I don't know anything about adding attachments. I would like to be able to add a blade on the front and add a hitch sleeve and maybe a tiller on the back. Are there any guides anywhere on exactly how to install a sleeve hitch? Are there any guides on exactly what attachments will work, etc? I assume I have to take off the mower deck for other attachments to work, right? Thanks in advance. Joshua |

I would suggest the best advice would be to find a tractor with a minimum of hydraulic lift. The blades can get heavy, the tiller can be a bear with the manual lift.
At the least, you should have this to help with lifting the tiller. 388 3 Point Hitch w/Spring Assist 190-388-100 You have a nice looking tractor there. |

Thanks Roland! Are these things for sale anywhere, or am I going to have to start visiting tractor shows?

Thank you. Here are a few more pics if you're interested.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
