Default Valve Spring Removal Tool

Hi guys!
Any one can recommend a brand and style for valve spring removal tool. Which work better?? The ones that have a turn screw from above? or the ones that just come in from the side? Any other tips or concerns I should be aware of? Whats a fair price and where to purchase? Thanks, Happy wrenching!

Our crystal ball is still cloudy from the hurricane, So are you working on a small block chevy, or possibly some obscure lawnmower?????
or anything in between?
We are really not mind readers.
A small lawnmower flathead engine needs just a couple of screw drivers at best in the right hands.

I'm sorry I threw you a curve, its a K-301. I was thinking that on Only Cub Cadets .net,you wouldn't in your wildest dreams think it was a chevy. Again my apologies, I'm just searching the proper tool and tips.

Generally speaking that is true, BUT.........there have been questions asked here in disguise, that were completely off topic.

This is the style you want. I borrowed a similar one when I rebuilt my K301.

I have the same tool, it is a Lisle.

Make sure the tool shoe is fully engaging the rotator on larger engines (K321 & 41) or spring retainer on the bottom of the spring and do not overtighten so much that the tool arm is distorted.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
