Default 1320 with hydro problems

I was using my cub mowing my yard and it quit moving it won't go forward or backwards. The drive belt is ok and it shows fluid in the plastic fill cup.the hydro lever linkages appear to be ok. Does anyone know what might be the problem and does anyone know what hydraulic fluid will work other than the case or cub cadet brand I have several farm stores close by but no dealers. Thanks 1970superbee

There is a gear in the trans that goes between the large idler on top to the pump/gear box. Sometimes that will break, but most times, its the pieces on the end of the axles.

We rebuild those trannys all the time in our shop.

I had a 1420 that the hydro part of the tranny worked fine but the gear side broke on me 4 times. I did use it to blow snow and was told the tranny was not built for that duty. The last time it broke it had not been used for anything but mowing and the shop recommended I get a garden tractor for anything other than mowing. They absolutely did not want to fix that tranny one more time infact if I recall they refused to do it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
