Lawn stripes.

Hi all,
New here and I have a question. I have a new XT1 46 which works great. I switched the factory blades to a mulching kit and now I'm getting uncut grass, which seems to be between the blades. I leveled the blades and the deck the best I could, but still getting a little bit of the stripe of uncut grass, I did get the kit for the 46 inch deck. Any idea on what else I can do to eliminate them? I appreciate any info. you can give me.

were the blades the same length as the originals?

Hi,
Yes they are Cub Cadet and advertised for the 46 inch deck. I held them up to each other they are the same length.

How tall is your grass? You probably have to mow a lot slower because mulchers take a good bit of power to run. I run a fan assisted bagger on a 21HP 3000 series and it will leave uncut grass if I go too fast for taller grass.

My grass does get 4-6 inches (I have an acre) and I don't cut as often as I should. I have my blades set at 3. I'll try slowing down, maybe that's it, I don't know.

Folks that want to mulch, find it helpful to mow 2x a week, to make the clippings disappear.
If you mow when it is time to cut and bale, you are better off with regular blades and throw the grass out the chute and let it windrow.
A goat or two on a rope, does a fine job of weed "N" feed.

Did you install the blades yourself? Are you sure that they are on correctly and not upside down?

Hi all,
Still dealing with the stripping issue...well until today. I was cutting and ran over an iron cap of some sort and well it bent the left blade pretty good and cracked the spindle. So I ordered 2 more spindles with zerks fittings. If I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all. So my next question is how would I totally remove the deck on a 2019 XT1 LT46? I tried before but it has what looks like a small diameter cable that I can't figure out how to disconnect. If I can get the cable disconnected I can work on the deck a lot easier. If any one has a 2019 XT1 LT46 I can use a step by step how to on the deck removal. No I didn't need to order 2 spindles, but I'm like that, replace both at the same time. Anyway, any help is much appreciated.
