Todays progress, got the tower together and back on. Waiting for a set of axle tube gaskets and seals. Rear end has 2 broken mounting bolts so since I have to pull one tube to get them out I figure that I may as well pull both, drill the case for oil returns and put new axle seals in it.

Always impressive to see your projects Sam and how well you do things.

Got the front wheels cleaned up and painted. Stuck a plastic pipe through the bore, set them on some jack stands and rattle can city. These are off a JD and the hub is ¼” too wide for a Cub so I had a couple spacers made to bolt on at the axle ends. Then I played around with a hood and grill idea. Think I can fab up a gage pod for the top of the Cyclops Dash tower that will house a set of gages and act as an adapter of sorts for this style hood. Had the engine running on the bench because it would not shut off with the key or even grounding out the kill wire. Pulled the blower housing and found that the wire had come loose from the terminal that comes out through the housing. Crimped it a little, put it back on and all fixed. Gotta do a little oil drain line relocation plumbing and should be ready to drop it in. It also had a bit of a lean surge at idle so I cut the little plastic limiting cap off the adjustment screw on the back of the carb and richened it up about a ¼ turn more than the factory setting would allow and she purrs like a kitten now.

Enjoying the new project! Can't wait to see the finished product. Please don't cut up that 1772 hood. Hopefully just using it for mockup. Diesel hoods are hard to find. Patiently waiting for the next installment.............
