Default Cub Cadet Original Restoration

I've had this tractor since March of 2013. I traded a Wheel Horse C-101 for it. The PO turned out to be a kid my age and now we've become good friends, funny how you meet people from Craigslist isn't it?!
Well anyways, it got put onto the back burner it had to wait on another restoration to be completed before I started oh hèr. So finally, yesterday I pulled the piston and honed the cylinder walls. I will soon be taking the engine to a machine shop to get the cylinder walls and cranc mic'ed and have the valves ground and lapped. This is going to be a long build so stay tuned for updates.

Default Sweet!!!!

Gotta dig those Originals!

They're simple, they work well, even for a 7 or 8 horse engine and by golly, they're just kinda cute!
(in a Chihuahua-totin', work-horse kinda way)

Keep us informed how it all goes.

Here's the 109 I restored that held me up for so long. I think it was well worth the wait!

I was able to pick up this nice little No. 1 trailer for $20.00. I paid the guy in all 1's and he said "thanks I'm going to Vegas soon".

It may be a little rusty but it is a true survivor. There are no modifications done to it except for the "modified" crunch on the front of the hood.

I have a K341 for a customer at the machine shop, when I pick that engine up I will drop the K161 for the Original off. Boy I can't wait!

Nice restore on the 109!
The O looks to be in good original shape and you got a heck of a deal on that #1!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
