and today..........
I put the driveshaft back in minus one fan blade ( &%&#*^$ !!!!! ) .
Replaced 3 ball ends. I moved the hydro drive end trunion thing to the replacement engine, and will hopefully light things off tomorrow. Put the dress plates in front of the transmission tunnel and on the frame pan behind the engine. I had to wait to make a trip to the hardware store to get some fasteners until tomorrow as my wife wanted me to wait for the UPS guy since the delivery needed a signature. UPS guy came , dropped the package with no signature , and left. Did I mention more parts cleaning?

Am not sure you mentioned the parts cleaning specifically, but as I have
followed this thread. I was certain there was a whole bunch of that going on. Have a good time firing it up. How did you get that kind of a wheelie out of a tractor with no engine? Ken |

That engine is now in the Cub, spirol pin installed (lightly greasing them and chamfering the leading edge just a hair, makes this a simple process), grill is back on, light panel in, and wiring harness connection underway. May try and light it off today. Thought I had two LED headlights but only had one (the box I thought that had the 2nd contained a spare incandescent ). Oh Amazon.....
Those front motor mount bolts are special. Jacking one end of the axle up at a time with a small bottle jack helped provide clearance to the front ones. I hope the seller of the engine described it accurately as good running, no smoke or knock. We shall see! Wheelie was manually produced. Holding the cub up with one hand while positioning the workmate and jack stand underneath is sporty!

I got the wiring routed and the rest of the little stuff hooked up. Swapped the very worn out Carter carb (which I'll rebuild) for a known good Chinesium , hooked up the linkages for choke and throttle and all the little stuff. I filled up the Ketchup squeezer fuel tank (with the tapered nozzle that fits every kind of random fuel line) with a little bit of fresh gas, and....
Cranked it up and it ran like a champ.... well... too much of a champ. The hydro linkage is not adjusted so it climbed over the wheel chocks and was heading southward towards the woods when I turned the key off. I'll jack up the rear end and do the hydro adjust as per the manual before I try this again, but it sounds good and not a bit of smoke.

Sounds good! Always feels great to fire it back up after doing a lot of work. I hope to see some 'finished' pictures soon!
