Default Weight Ballast Build

I've got a 782 with a 3 point hitch and snow blower. I want to make a weight for the 3 point out of 5 gallon buckets and a draw bar. I know the top mount is 12 inches above the bottom mounts but how do I decide the height of the draw bar? This is my first tractor with a 3 point so I'm still figuring this out. If the bucket is sitting on the ground and I put the bar through at the lowest arm setting to hook up, won't the bucket drag when I lower the Snow plow? If I lower the attachment points I'd have to set the weight on a base to keep it high enough to hook up. Is that correct?

Forget the bucket and drawbar and do this.

Build a box, support it with the lower 3 point and hang it from the frame.
I built three of these, one for each of the cubs that need winter traction and they work like a charm.

Paint it to match, add a piece of reflector tape and a short length of tow chain and it will look like it belongs there.

Speaking of chain, it's also a good place to carry a chain for if you plow long enough you will more than likely need one sooner or later!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
