Weed Eating Lawn Mower
Well as some may know we have a Lot of Rocks in Arkansas, and keeping blades sharp on you lawn mower here is hard to do. So I came up with another one of my Great ideas. I wasn't sure it would work, but it works better than steel blades. I took off the old blades and cut them down, and then welded 4 7/16 nut on each one,
then put my walk behind weed eater line on them. I cut the back lot where I have the most rocks. The lot is 112 X 150 feet and the line showed almost no ware at all. |

Innovation at it's finest.
Can't see why that wouldn't work well, after all those DR trimmer gadgets are the same thing except, I think what you have come up with here is safer.

Chief, that is a great idea. I admire you thought process. Here in central IL, if we hit a rock in the yard, we are looking for the closest kid to blame for throwing it there...haha. Nice work !!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
