Default ID Holes on CCC 1811 Rear Hitch Plate

I was wondering if anyone knew the use for these holes. Rectangular slot in particular has me curious.

My 1711 doesn't have the back plate, so I don't have a great comparison. The 2182's doesn't have the holes other than the 2 on the centerline or the rectangular slot.

I think it's also odd my 1711 has the CCC decal on the fender towards the top of this picture, and the CCC emblem on the grill, but the 1811 has neither. Cost savings?

The 1986 1811 had the CCC grille emblem and rear decal. I think they were eliminated in 1987.

If the hitch plate on your 1811 doesn't have the rockshaft then it is the "rear bagger plate." They used that same plate and added the rockshaft for the rear cat 0 hitch part# (190-389-100). The rectangular slot on the right side is for the cat 0 lift bar to stick out when raised.

The rear hitch plates didn't come standard on SGT'S & GT's until the cyclops series started in 1990. It is known that the rear hitch plate keeps the machine from flexing the frame and working the rear differential bolts loose so it is a good idea to add those to the 82 series machines.

The series 1 CCC machines built from 1981 to 1985 use the black wedge type hood decal and the CCC emblems on the front and back. On the series 2 machines (built 1985 to 1989), the early ones used the series 1 decals and CCC emblems but then they switched to the new hood decal and dropped the CCC emblems.

The 181X replaced the 171X but they weren't built until 1986. I have heard of some people saying that there 1986 machines have the CCC logo so I'm not sure and can't find the serial number break where they changed the design.

My 1986 1811 had both CCC logos, but have since been replaced with older IH emblem and decal

Awesome! This makes good sense, as mine is an '89 and likely came after the design change.

I was curious about a lift link, but it seems way too low (sights to axle housing) to go back up to there for a sleeve hitch or 3 point. Unless the bar has some weird geometry.

It sounds like that was a good CCC addition (especially for the new al rear end) to the already stout tractor. I've always been surprised they only catch 2 bolts to each side -- you'd think one more would have been wise on a small frame weldment to better control torsion.

They're kinda a neat emblem.


Oak/1711 -- the holes in the center are threaded. I wondered if there were for a top link mount (I've seen one on eBay for an 1811, or at least that's what I suspect it is. This would make sense if it was also a bolster or something for a bagger.

Thanks. I checked on my dad's 1512 and sure as sh!t the one 3pt lift link uses the square slot.

The deck didn't have any signs of a bagger, but it's probably long since gone.

Yes. The mantra of most companies. Reduce content and raise the cost of the product. It may have been small, but those things add up.
