Default New guy from Iowa

Hello everyone, new to the site and while I’m not completely new to garden tractors I am completely new to cub cadets. I recently bought a 1965 102. I had been looking for a good gear driven tractor for quite awhile and I’m glad I followed the advice of having patience and waiting for the right one. My 102 ended up only being a few miles from my house. The more I’m learning about it, the more I like it. I’ve been able to find answers to questions by searching the forum and reading manuals but I still have some things I’d like understand. The tractor will be used for some mowing and snow removal. Glad to be here and looking forward to learning. I can post pictures once I figure out how. Thanks.

Does anyone have experience with posting pictures with an iPhone? I think that’s where I’m getting hung up. I don’t have a computer. I think the information that I found is based off using a computer. Thanks.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
