Default Houtz and Sons makes the day

A lost and lonely 1810 found me needing care and attention. It called out to me.
I had sworn off Cubs. Really. I did.
My local dealer could not find the part, a tension bracket that you release to loosen the front pulleys for a belt change.
MTD had the wrong tractor frame frame on the web sites and the part could not be found. `3 levels of techs.
Called up Houtz and Ta Da, they had it new and used. Ordered some other stuff from them while I was at it.

Do patronize the people that advertise here, they know your machine, and can save you time, money , and aggravation
And thanks to Tim the counterman.

Went there 2x to get parts. Would have been cheaper to send it to me by mail but I just loved walking around & looking at all the STUFF they have outside.

Same here, Nik. When I needed a couple little tidbits for my O, the parts guy said "Go ahead a dig around out back". Real nice and helpful folks there.

Funny I found this googling. My 2182 was apparently sold by RF Houtz!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
