Default carburetor

Decided to go with a new carburetor, soooo many to choose from online. Which one do I go with? I have attached a few pics of old carb and engine info. It's a Kohler 20 HP. Thanks again.

No guarantees with aftermarket carbs. I've bought quite a few and they're good when they work.
Your carb doesn't look that bad a good cleaning would most likely get you running again.
But if you want to gamble the $20?

I installed a new carb ($20) from Amazon. It runs sporadically. Runs fine for 2 seconds then wants to stall for 2 seconds, then runs fine again for 2 seconds and keeps repeating this cycle at any RPM, sitting still, and while moving around. There is one screw adjustment on the carb (facing front). I did not turn it. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance...

Amazon advertises free returns, keep returning the china junk till you get one that works properly or you give up and fix your OEM carb

I have personally never had trouble with cheap Chinese 4-stroke carbs, the just work out of the box (except the time I bought the wrong one but that was my fault) Chinese 2-stroke carbs are a different story as they require adjusting the high and low to get it tuned correctly.

How long are you running the choke when you first crank it? My 2155 with factory carb will surge up and down if I don't let it run on choke long enough usually 1-2 mins depending on temperature.

If you are choking correctly then try adjusting the idle screw but like I said I've never had bad luck with the Chinese carbs they just work...

I've also not had good luck cleaning carbs (but I've only tried it once). I had one that ran but leaked around the bowl. Bought a kit and rebuilt it, now it won't even run at all. I've taken it apart and cleaned it again, still same. Granted I don't have a sonic cleaner, just some spray and my hands...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
