The "Rinky dink" weedeater 1 rider I bought used a few years back had that option incorporated in the ignition switch, there was a position you could turn the key to , where the deck didn't turn off when backing up.

You'll like it, I'm a big fan of my 1811. That bracket is for a bagger in your case, but is the same one for the 3 point top link.

New Cubs have had the reverse caution feature for that since at least the LT/GT series. Unfortunately the older ones did not yet have that loophole, but they made the sensor very easy to access/unplug

I cut grass with it yesterday. It did great until one of the mule drive pulleys locked up. That was an easy enough fix, I borrowed one from my 882 for now. When I went to start it back up, it would crank but wouldn’t start. I thought maybe it was flooded or something. Spark plugs were dry, so I checked for spark and it had nothing on either side. I let it sit for about an hour and came back and it started right up and ran good. Sounds like a bad coil, right? And I guess the motor would have to come out to change it. Not really a problem, I’m sure it could use a good cleaning anyways.

Yes, heat soak related failure, which is fairly common with these. To replace, the engine needs to come out and the rear tins removed. Resist trying to save a buck with Chyna coils. OEM Kohler is the only way to go with these. The cheap ones don't put out the voltage due to less windings.

Thanks, I’ll get one ordered. I only want to do it once, so I will definitely get the OEM one.

I would think if the plugs were dry it would be fuel related.

I had grief with my 1440, wound up changing both shut-offs. They were plugged. Still no start, the fuel pump was sputtering fuel, so I changed that, still no start. ( started by squirting gas in carb) Pulling the carb was a real pain, but it needed the tins pulled and jugs cleaned anyways. The battery tray needed painting too, after cleaning the carb and reassembly, it started and ran great, wound up putting the metal fuel pump back on. I used it for 6 yrs plowing snow, only had to replace the rubber seal for one of the shut-offs. Bought a 1872 and then obtained a 54" blade for it. So when I went to sell the 1440 , wouldn't you know, it gave me grief. So the guy that bought it, got a really nice running and starting tractor.

I am way late to this, but that is a great score! That is my FAVORITE style of Cub GT. Reminds me of the big IH tractors of the era (spent some time on a 656 and 1066.... that was awesome!!)

I was thinking fuel related, but it’s definitely not getting spark.

Thanks. They are becoming one of my favorites too. Although I still think the 1x6/1x7 series will always be my all time favorite.
