Built a simple boom pole that I’ll use to set some 2x12s when I build a loft in the back of my barn. It reaches up 11’ 2”. It will accept a pulley in case I decide to add a winch to it.

My latest Kub project is a winter cab. I probably should have started it before winter but so far we haven’t had enough snow to need it. It’s mostly done other than a few small pieces in the back and the plexiglass windows. The rear panel will be quick detach in case I need to use the backhoe with the cab on. The doors also lift off.

Nice wood work, are you going to paint it with bed liner to keep the moisture out?

Thanks.
I probably will use bedliner paint. I’ve thought about painting it orange but the bedliner would hold up better since I’ll be removing the cab in the spring and storing it in the barn.

Cab is nearly complete. Finished installing the last window today. All that’s left is to add seals along the bottom of the doors and plumb my homemade heater. I painted it with spray-can bedliner.

It’s a homemade contraption of course. I don’t know how well it will work yet. I still need to plumb the hoses to the engine.
It consists of an old brass transmission cooler that I pulled from a radiator tank inside a 4” HVAC duct. There is aluminum gutter guard mesh fan-folded and stuffed around the transmission cooler as heat sink fins. Below that is a 6” fan. The defroster and heat ducts are 1-1/4” PVC.

Plumbed the heater with a 3-way selector valve to allow the heater to be bypassed in warmer weather. It doesn’t put out a lot of heat but it should keep the windows clear and my fingers and toes warm.

Sweet setup Adam. I made a vinyl cab for my BX. Got some 30 mil vinyl from marinevinylfabric.com pulled the edge molding off the cab shield, clamped the vinyl on then put the molding back on with a couple zip ties to make sure it stays in place. Just trying to block the wind.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
