The people at the Advance here in town just hold the counter down.. they don't have a clue what they have unless the computer can tell them... I would suggest a parts store with more seasoned employees

So, question. When installing my pto switch in the 1250 I noticed that it only has 4 wires. The both wires on the 2 prong connector are there but only 2 wires on the 3 prong connector. Isn't the wire on the 3 prong connector closest to the front of the tractor the safety switch wire? I'm asking because multiple safety switches have been bypassed.

The PTO switch should only have 4 wires. Power from the ignition, switched power to the PTO and then a circuit that runs through the PTO switch to the brake switch and then the solenoid. Very simple wiring.

It's wired in conjunction w/the main safety switch so the tractor will not start when the PTO is in the "on" position.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
