really you didn't get any snow
I got a good 12" in most places 2-3 feet in some spots from the drifting I was wishing i still had a blower

Congrats Steven on the number 3 rare bird. I never understood how they would be on the list as I’ve seen so many over the years. Nice pick up with some options too. Looks like you found a decent 6 pad seat too

I started looking into getting it to turn over, and found bad connections to neutral start switch. It will need a new keyswitch because the terminal were stuck on there on the back and broke one off. The loom needs some attention but i think most of it i will keep in place for now. The battery it came with was junk. Bomgaars supplied me with a u1-a l&g battery at 350 cca. Used my matco starter relay jumper to check starter function and it spins over. I removed the spark plug and there is compression of air during cranking.
I was surprised, although thinking about it makes sense in how the harness is constructed, but the light switch wire is run to front. 20181130_212221.jpg 20181130_212457.jpg

I got the new key switch today. 60736c3. Or aftermarket
j&n 240-22161 number. It only has one nut and its a little smaller thread. Assuming i have a factory switch. All connections made to the starter relay and coil. Try to test fire to spark plug and no dice. So i check voltage to coil 12.5V good. Next stop check the coil.... it ohms out ok (thank you R Bedell) for the coil check sheet. So the points need a good cleaning with emery cloth and the ground contacts are good. Spark now has good fire. Next up the VR wires need a little attention. Next we wait for the new bowl gasket. Before putting fuel in the tank. Put a tube in one front tire, and i will get to the other one later this week. Its coming along. Getting the qa42 blower on this for final winter snow removal is my goal. See how the engine does on oil and go from there. Id like to get a plow and tiller for it too.

Got fire in engine today and it runs really well no smoke. I was in the garage with the door cracked. Idles good, too.
I put both tires on the front after putting tubes in. Next is to check out the vr. I got some video of it running but dont use you tube to upload. Got to get to the company christmas party after gettin all gased up.

High voltage?
Yesterday was such a nice day here, close to 60! Anyways great time to work on my 126. Last time got it started, but not driven. Yesterday was the real deal! Took it outside and drove around for about 10 minutes and checked all four speeds in hi and low, and there all good. I just needed to adjust the brakes a bit, so it stops when completely pushing the cluth/brake peddle.
Just a couple things i needed to work on. There is a small puncture hole in the gas tank about halfway up. I can tell its been there a while because the paint chipping/peeling, you know what it looks like after being soaked in gas for a long time and the dirt trail. How the po did not fix this? What a gas hog that would be. 20190106_071124.jpg The voltage regulator is putting out 15.8 volts at hi speed and 14.5 at low. I haven't checked yet, but i think thats a little hi for the V/R? 20190106_070920.jpg I also took a piece of vacuum hose on the hood in front to prevent it from hitting the casting. I dont know what the po did to the hood, but it looks like somebody mixed up jb weld on there. It should buff out. 20190106_071618.jpg
