Smile Cub Cadet 1810

Hi. I'm a new cub cadet owner of an 1810. Sure, it needs some work and cleaning up, but I'm excited to get it in top running condition. I just replaced the battery, ignition, and solenoid. Still only starts when jump started from solenoid to ignition, and now won't cut off! Is ot possibly a relay switch problem or maybe grounding problem?
I'm new to fixing mowers, but ready and willing to dig in!

What do you mean by "ignition"....???

Can you supply a better description or meaning.

I would suggest that you not jump into "shot gunning" your tractor with parts but rather find the actual problem, then fixing that.

Hi there and welcome!

Looking at your post, did you change ignition switch possibly? If so was it an aftermarket switch? If yes to either start by getting cub cadet OEM switch and make sure its wired correctly.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
