1450 split brakes
First I want to say thanks to matt g. and cub149 for the inspiration to finally get my split brakes figured out. When I re did the tractor 2 years ago I planned on doing this, but was always a little gun shy about doing it. Over all it was pretty straight forward, I started with a set of 982 pedals and shaft, and brackets from a 782. I know most don't like to drill holes in the frame, but I didn't have much chose. I had to drill six holes in the bottom, which on a 82 series you wouldn't have to drill any. I will let the pictures do the talking for me, enjoy.

Thanks for the compliments, now I just have to fight off the urge to buy a diesel cub But we all know it is easier said than done to stick with only one cub.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
