How does the HP differ from the orig. motor to the tractor motor? is more HP gonna hurt the chipper? Cause I was thinking the same thing with mine.. but my tractor is 12hp, and my chipper is 3.5hp, almost useless.. Nice work on yours,, lookin forward to see painted pics..

The engine for this shredder was long gone. But 8-10 hp I believe. vs 17hp in the 782 I figure anything it ingests that it does not like will damage it regardless of HP. That or the belt will slip if I run it looser. Have not decided how tight to run it. What little I have used it the motor pulls easily so do not have to scream it to make the chipper part work. Looks like no job in 2015 so paint for it and the 2072 may have to wait. Bummer since the 2072 is apart. Springtime I expect to have some vids of this thing in action.

Thought I would dig up the old thread and give you guys an update. Tried it and was not impressed. Realized I needed to sharpen some knifes and it got wayyyy better. It needs some repairs still, but does some serious eating of branches. Here is a pic in action on the 782.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
