I couldn't agree with you more.. the ole opposed twins have a sound of their own.. and plenty of grunt to go with the sound. I have one with the original series I engine that is still kickin and I have a Mag 18 with 1500 hours on it.. still strong somehow! This Mag 18 came out of a Snapper... they guy chunked the KT17 before he got half the crap off of it.. wrong flywheel adapter, half the shrouding missing, wrong muffler etc.. Three bolts holding it all together, and none of them were tight.. that's why I called it a hack job.. If I didn't have a complete low hour engine from an 1864 I would finish the Mag conversion

Well, good for you Jay. You gotta start someplace, and getting it in the shop, well, that's a good place to start.
Will be checking in, to see the progress. No matter how slow, or how long it'll take... Yup, gotta love the red one.

Didn't take long to scatter it!
Obviously it just got stuck back together to sell.. one bolt in the grill, one bolt in the engine plate and it was loose, none in the driveshaft, one wire hooked up, one bolt in the gas tank.. This guy was not getting anywhere on this Mag conversion! But I knew most of this when I bought it! Quickest one I ever took apart though!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
