Kinda Maw & Paw Clampet, but...
I went to Lowe's and bought a 15-inch section of metal sink drain. It was very close to the size of the pipe that screws into the block and it's nice and shiny! Be sure to get the one that has the flange (nut slides onto the pipe and then screws onto the pipe that you are attaching it to) so that you don't have to deal with the threads on the pipe. Now, it's not as thick as some of the pipes available, but it's not nearly as heavy either. It gives our puller a nice pop, without sounding hollow, like the pipe is too large. Here's a couple of pictures. |

Interesting.
I've had mine on for about a year and so far, no issues. I ran the engine a little lean and it heated up the pipe and turned it blue. But, it's still solid. I had thought of putting a flapper on it but decided against it because it isn't that thick and don't want to push my luck with it. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
