Thanks Cub Cadet 123! I appreciate it! Do you have any pics of your 73 with the blade mounted?

Allen,
My 73 is in another county from me right now. I have the QA on it, then the two bolts in the front and the two arms resting on the front pegs of the footrest.....sorry, I don't have a picture ready for you. When I make it back over there--prob. this next weekend, I'll snap a pic or two and send it your way!!! I do remember loosening the bolts on that footrest and placing the lift bar and blade undercarriage on---it was a tight fit and the footrest DOESN'T fit back up like normal, but it has worked fine for the last couple of years. BTW: We'll need to get some of the white fluffy snow your way this next year for you to have some fun with that blade. Cub Cadet 123

Allen,
Here are some pics of my 73 with the front mounted blade. I hope they help. You can see that the footrest is moved out a ways to accommodate the blade subframe, but it seems like I just loosened the bolts far enough to fit the frame without fully removing the footrest. Let me know if you need more pics: ....... Thanks, Cub Cadet 123

Thats a strange (to me) lift bracket. Mine is just a cheesy plate with holes, and a 3/4 hole through which passes the footrest/ lift pivot. Its held at top with a u bolt which pivots with load... very frustrating .... sometimes it lifts sometimes it lifts but lower... no downpressure useable. it always pushes away from the load.

Blade update! We'll be getting the blade from the sand blaster, Wednesday. The painter will have it, Thursday. I'll have a painted front blade real soon. Pretty excited!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
