Default Haban 401 54" Blade Springs

Does anyone have a source for the HA-12383 trip springs for the 54" Haban? I bought a blade with no springs and would rather find something similar to OEM, versus getting some generic springs to work.

I have done some research into this. I found that the Haban Springs 12383 had become NLA in 2004. With that in mind, I am going to venture to say, that chances of finding them are very slim. Thus, I am thinking that some aftermarket springs may be in order.

Thanks Roland. I believe Agri-Fab bought out Haban. Perhaps if I call them they would have an old drawing with spring coefficient, free length, diameter, etc so that I can find springs close to the original.

I talked with Charlie at CC Specialties, and he suggested since the Cub Cadet PO27 is about the same size but a stronger spring, just use two of them instead of the 4 Haban Springs. He has them in stock. Click on sponsor's tab above.

Thanks Roland. I talked with Rob Houtz and CC Used Parts, and he had none of the Haban springs. I also talked with Agri-Fab, and they do not support any Haban product lines other than some tillers. Lastly, I called Messicks, and they do not show any springs in stock at any dealer.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
