I discovered that they breed like rabbits. I had the 1250 and then came a 70 and the next thing I knew I had about eight more of them. It seems to happen whenever I turn the garage lights out. I leave them on now.

I think I have the same problem... maybe I should try leaving the lights on!

My three Cubs. A 1973 149, 1970 147, and 1989 1320. You can ignore that green thing that somehow snuck into the third picture.

Here's an update of my collection. Major change to the 1250 (hydraulic lift now), 129 has a sleeve hitch and spring assist and my newest addition, a 124 with a few attachments.

You have some sturdy looking workers there. Glad they found a good home!

Here's my 1974 Cub cadet 1250 "Boo-boo. She has ag tires, wheel weights, tire chains, the exhaust sticks out like a sore thumb, she has okay decals, she's all original, and she came with a mint snowblade and a deck with one patch, surface rust, and two puncture wounds. She's dirty, but she has very little rust. Someone definitely took care of the old girl, don't you think?
So far, I've removed the headlights, which were on the sides of the hood, swapped the racing steering wheel for an original one off my brother's disassembled 1450, took off the snowblade and tire chains, and wiped her off.
Now to add factory headlights, fix the exhaust, pressure wash her, and change the oil and rear end fluid.

Default Just picked up this 126... amazing

Found this and purchased on craigslist yesterday. It sat 10 years in a garage. Fired her up and cut some very tall, very wet grass just now. Unreal.. old dull blades and all and she cut like a dream. Okay.. i did steal the carb off my 1211H to make her run but she fired right off with that and fresh gas and battery of course. Time to give the 1211 a rest i guess. Love this machine.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
