Default Wide frame hood stop

I made this hood stop for my 129 and made a print for it for anyone wanting to make their own.

That is awesome. They should have done that from the factory. Simple but effective.

I hadn't planned on selling any but if enough folks are interested I may make up a batch of them if I get some free time.

Thank you for posting this, it gave me an idea for my 1650. Right now I'm using a cable I made. I found this pic. of someone else's idea but the dimensions change on every tractor.

NICE!!! I like the rigid stop as well as using a cable, either way solves a problem. Dad has a 129 with a shock absorber (I can't remember the proper name), I'll try to get a pic next time I am at the shop.

I guess Cadet realized this was a problem and that is why they developed the hood latch on the 82 series. Dad told me last week that they had a new one on the showroom floor get the hood bent because a customer didn't realize there was a latch and tried to force the hood shut.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
