Default PTO only works in reverse mowing LT1046KW (13WF93AT010)

Hey all, I'm having a problem with my PTO on my 2013 Cub Cadet LT1046KW (13WF93AT010). It won't activate the blades unless I switch the key to the reverse mowing position and press the button. Then the PTO will activate the blades.

I pulled the switch and tested for continuity and the switch appears to be good I've checked the connections and they look good. Did some research online but I couldn't find anyone with the same problem.

Hoping it might be an easy fix as I'd rather not have to buy a new PTO clutch.

Thanks in advance for your help.

First, welcome to OCC..........

Sorry to say, but you will need to replace the Key Switch Module. The 725-4227B is replaced by --> 925-06119C or Stens 430-220.

Well that's better than the PTO clutch.

Good news. I pulled the ignition switch and it was all gunked up with dirt. Cleaned everything off, sprayed a liberal amount of electrical contact cleaner, put some dielectric grease in and reconnected everything. PTO works as it should now. Thanks again.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
