Default I forgot about this one!

I found this old relic in a field near a truck stop and inquired about it. This model is not on my top ten list to own, but it was too nice to leave outside to rust away. The engine has been replaced during it's lifetime and it is not seized. This model has a three point and a spring assist lift kit. The mower deck was a petrified hunk of tetanus and was discarded. Someone ask me in my other thread regarding the "73" how many Cub Cadets do I have....well this is number 18. I forgot about it since I parked it in another garage. Pics or didn't happen.

I like the styling of the 1x6/7 series.

Roland, I agree!

A 126 and 127 are on my "someday" list, as is a 73, so I can complete the series. So far, I'm halfway there

Anyways, nice score!

Now did you load that up in the FedEx truck? I am sure the motor will run, but the wiring may make it difficult.

FedEx...lol. Nope, the truck place loaded it on my whittle twailer. You are correct about the wire harness. Needs replacing. IH had problems with that era of harnesses.

Nice score! My favorite model, eventhough I never had one yet. I have been looking for one since before I got my first one, my 147. Haven’t found the right deal yet. My dad used to have one and I always wished he never sold it.

Nice extras on that one! Good save. Every once in a while these sit in trees and junkyard along highways and gravel roads before going to scrap and then found! I like the 127 and 126 too. The black and white styling on the hood is nice.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
