Default I will never forget...

Just occurred to me that today is Sept 11. To those who lost someone, and to those who died, may they rest in peace. To those who have served this great country, and to those who do, thank you for all you do and have done. This day in history marks a real turning point in how Americans live. The world changed on Sept 11, 2001. I will never forget this date. What I was doing, where I was.... how it felt.

I was working for Case IH as a mechanic in Casey, Il. It was any other normal day at work until we got word that something was going on in New York. The world stopped. We spent the rest of the day huddled around radio's and a TV that we found and got hooked up to pick up the news. We all just watched. About 15 of us huddled around the TV. Watching. Listening. Just in shock. We didn't know what was going to happen next. As the day went on, and into night.... then the next day and even the next several. I just kept wondering if there was more coming. If we were safe. People in other places have to deal with fighting/war on a regular basis.... but not here, in America. Thank God we live where we don't have to worry about it.... or at least we don't think we do. So far, our powers at be have kept us all safe. Let's not forget the day that we weren't, and what it felt like so that it may never happen again.

Where were you?

God Bless the USA.

Well put J. I was in 9th grade drafting class. We had a radio in class and I remember it coming across. Later in diffferent classes we saw the tv footage. I will never forget it.

Very well said, Jonathan. I too was at work, wondering the same things you expressed.

Was at work in a customers parking lot working on their lifts, listening to the radio, Howard Stern who was on regular radio at the time. Had been in Florida about 4 years already. Being from NY however this hit close to home. Actually panicked at first because my parents were in the city that week and I didn’t know which day and actually in WTC1 in one of the restaurants in the top. Thank God it was a couple days before. Was still very saddened and shocked to hear and see about such a massive loss of life. All flags down here in Florida flying half mast and I’d like to think that most have not Forgotten.

Certainly another day that will live in infamy!

I was on my way to make a delivery of some pipe to a nuclear power plant in Palo, IA.

Wow, did I ever get the once/twice/thrice over trying to make that delivery!!

I was living in Canada at the time. Watching the news before the towers collapsed. Was like watching some hollywood disaster movie.
Only more horrific since you knew it was not.
Our freedom has changed drastically because of those 19 towel heads.
Will NEVER forget.

Was at work with another guy on our VL when somebody heard (probably radio) that a plane had hit one of the towers. I was dumbfounded how that could happen, passed it off as a horrible mechanical failure. Then another plane hit. Now wondering what the heck, radar screwed up or something? Surely nobody was doing this intentional. Then the others hit. Realizing somebody was behind this, but still not wanting to believe folks could be that evil/mean--this is civilians not military casualties. It took a few days, maybe weeks for me to comprehend how truly atrocious mankind to be to one another.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
